Increase in minimum income threshold for skilled visa programs in Australia

From 1 July 2025, Australia will implement a policy of increasing the minimum income threshold for skilled visa programs. The purpose of this is to ensure that migrant workers are not paid less than Australian workers, avoiding the situation of using migrant workers to reduce the overall market wage.

Specific increase:

    • Core Skills Income Threshold (CSIT) – applies to the Core Skills stream of the 482 (Skills in Demand) and 186 (Employer Nomination Scheme) visas: Tăng từ AUD 73,150 → AUD 76,515

    • Specialist Skills Income Threshold (SSIT) – applies to the Specialist Skills stream of the 482 (Skills in Demand) visa: Tăng từ AUD 135,000 → AUD 141,210

    • Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) – applies to visas 494 (Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional) and 187 (Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme): Tăng từ AUD 73,150 → AUD 76,515 (cùng mức với CSIT)

Important Note:

New nominations from 1 July 2025 must meet the new minimum wage or annual market wage (whichever is higher).

Does not affect those who already have a visa or nomination applications lodged before 1 July 2025.
